About Napoleon Bonaparte
Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821) was a French military general and political leader who rose to prominence during the French Revolution. He became Emperor of the French in 1804 and is renowned for his role in shaping European politics through a series of military campaigns known as the Napoleonic Wars, which expanded his empire across much of Europe. Despite his initial successes, his downfall began with the disastrous invasion of Russia in 1812, ultimately leading to his abdication and exile to the island of Elba, and later to his final defeat at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.
