About Jalal al-Din Rumi
Jalal al-Din Rumi, commonly known as Rumi (1207-1273), was a Persian poet, mystic, and Islamic scholar whose work transcended cultural boundaries and continues to inspire millions worldwide. Born in present-day Afghanistan, he spent much of his life in Konya, Turkey, where he founded the Mevlevi order, known for its whirling dervishes.
