About Francis Bacon
Francis Bacon (1561-1626) was an English philosopher, statesman, and essayist, best known for his promotion of the scientific method and empiricism, which laid the groundwork for modern scientific inquiry. Often referred to as the father of empiricism, he emphasized observation and experimentation in contrast to reliance on established doctrines. In addition to his philosophical works, Bacon served as Attorney General and Lord Chancellor of England, and his influential writings, particularly "Novum Organum," continue to impact the fields of science and philosophy.
