About Avicenna
Avicenna, born Abū Alī al-Husayn ibn Abd Allah ibn Sina in 980 CE in present-day Uzbekistan, was a Persian polymath who made significant contributions to various fields, including philosophy, medicine, and the natural sciences. Often regarded as the "father of modern medicine," his seminal work, "The Canon of Medicine," synthesized knowledge from various traditions and served as a medical textbook in Europe and the Islamic world for centuries. Avicenna's philosophical writings, particularly his interpretations of Aristotle and his own metaphysical ideas, have profoundly influenced both Islamic and Western thought.
